On the 10th of January 2020, all NABC members are invited to toast with us to the New Year at the Heineken Experience (Mauritskade 63) in Amsterdam. The Reception will serve as a tremendous platform for like-minded members to get the chance to network. It is also the perfect occasion to look back on a successful business year and ahead towards another while enjoying a drink or two. The Reception is free of charge for NABC members and EUR 50 for non-members.

Jan-Kees Nieman, Managing Director Africa, Heineken International

Jan-Kees Nieman has worked with Heineken for 25 years. During this period he has been Managing Director of Vrumona (Soft drinks company in the Netherlands), Harwall Ltd (Beer and Soft drinks company in Finland) and of Al Ahram Beverages (Beer, Wines, Spirits and Soft drinks company in Egypt).

In his current position, he is responsible for the following markets in Africa: Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria, Sierra Leone, Mozambique, Ghana, and La Reunion.

 

 

 

 

 

Reinhardt Smit, Co-Founder and Supply Chain Director, Closing the Loop

Reinhardt is Co-founder and Supply Chain Director for Closing the Loop. In his role, he responsible for the full supply chain, but in particular for the activities and relationships in Africa. As a South African and having grown up in Ghana, he enjoys managing and supporting the Local Partners in the various countries Closing the Loop is active in and feels he can deliver real value to the continent.

 

 

 

 

 


Peter de Ruiter, Managing Director, NABC

Peter de Ruiter has a strong affiliation with Africa and is convinced that the private sector plays a crucial role in the economic and sustainable development of the African Continent. Peter has been involved in the work of the Netherlands-African Business Council as Senior Counsel for many years.  Since 2017 Peter is the Managing Director of NABC.

Before taking up the leadership role of the NABC organization Peter built up over 30 years of professional experience as Partner in PwC and EY. Peter worked and lived in a number of countries and gained international business expertise in emerging and developing markets such as Central Eastern Europe, Nigeria, and West-Africa.

Peter is a trained international tax lawyer with a passion for the technical aspects of global and regional trade and transnational investment projects. He built up an outstanding track record of successful high-profile client engagements, always with the focus on achieving the business objectives of his clients. As Senior Partner in PwC, Peter has led larger (up to 300 staff) teams operating in a number of different jurisdictions. Over the years he has achieved impressive revenue and profit growth with his teams in these countries.
